she lay next to him, sleep in her eyes
He knows he couldn't keep them all. He couldn't keep her and his children, and he couldn't make that choice.
she sat beside him on the blanket, sun on her skin
She made it for him. He should be grateful.
she closed the door in his face, tears on her cheeks
Time is a river, every twist pulling him farther from her, no matter how hard he tries to swim back.
