He thought he was finished being angry with Yvonne, but watching her now through the one-way mirror of the interrogation room, he knows he isn't.
It's an unpleasant chore, but he has to know.
The uniformed cop sitting across from Yvonne shuffles his papers. "Do you know why you're here?" he asks, voice made tinny by the speakers.
Yvonne blows a puff of smoke, waves her cigarette. "Hugh's just bitter," she says, and smirks. "I had every right to take my daughter."
His hands clench. The uniform frowns. "Ma'am..."
"She's not his anyway," Yvonne adds, casually, and his heart stops.
