Billy fucking hated gym.
What was the stupid point to it, anyway? Who cared if you could run a mile in six minutes or do thirty-eight chin ups or whatever mandatory torture was today? Total bunch of bullshit. Didn't help that he shared gym with Molly, so he got to watch his sister sprint off like a colt, leaving him panting in the dust.
He figured out how not to be noticed pretty early on-- find the middle and hide there, fake like you were trying-- and stuck with it, desperately.
Thank fuck he could drop phys ed in college.
