James is painting her naked, because of course he is, but the thing is it makes total sense to Joy. She likes to be naked. Well, of course she does, she wouldn't be in her line of work if she didn't, but the point still stands. She likes to be naked, and she looks good naked, and if James wants to paint her naked then James can paint her naked.

It should be obvious, she shouldn't have to say it: it's not about sex. Not their relationship, not her nudity, not his painting. What it actually is about, that's not really for her to say. Comfort, maybe; she likes the air on her skin, the freedom of nudity, and it's nice being around someone who doesn't care. Trust, absolutely. Friendship. Their own particular kind of love.

"Hey, James," she says, and when he looks over, she sprawls dramatically backwards, ruining the pose entirely. "Draw me like one of your French girls."

Fun, too, she thinks, while he chokes on a laugh. Sometimes it's just about fun.
