Dirty Laundry
Jan. 1st, 2014 08:19 pmTitle: Dirty Laundry
Rating: PG.
Summary: Jennifer is worried about her sister.
Notes: Becky here is Rebecca Sierbenski. Thanks to JT for the title.
They don't talk about Becky's marriage.
Jennifer would like to, sometimes. She would like to call her mother up and say, "I'm worried about her," or even drive down to see Becky, sit across a table from her sister and ask if she's doing all right. But Becky married someone that Mama doesn't approve of—unlike Jennifer and her rich, gentle, distant, boring husband—and so they don't talk about Becky's marriage. They barely ever talk about Becky.
She writes sometimes. Christmas cards and the like. Becky never writes back.
Jennifer feels so helpless, but what can she possibly do?
Rating: PG.
