Title: Mommy's Little Girl
Rating: PG
Summary: When I was a little girl, there were two things that people said to me, all the time.
Notes: Jack asked Olivia on the Lint Roller, "Is there something you were told as a child that you suspect is true even though everyone tells you it isn't?"
When I was a little girl, there were two things that people said to me, all the time. The first was "Oh, what a lovely smile!" It's one of the things I've inherited from my father, my smile. I'm proud to acknowledge it.
The second, though, was "You're so much like your mother!"
I think you can understand why that might disturb me, now.
They say it's not true—my father, Joanna, Jake, Gina. They tell me I'm like my father, or that I'm my own person. They tell me I'm different from her. Better.
But. Well, here's the thing. Every time I bat my eyes, or smile at someone, or act sweet so someone will give me something I want.
Every time I manipulate someone, and I do that more often than you would think, looking at me.
Every time, I wonder if I'm just like her after all.
