Title: We're Done
Rating: G.
Summary: Dennis has an unusual way of ending a call.
Date: May 2000
Notes: Ahava spends the weekend before Mother's Day with her biological mother, usually.
"Okay, so I'll be down there next weekend," Ahava says, pressing her cell between her ear and shoulder. "Tell Arelie I look forward to seeing her!"
"Will do," Dennis says. "I have to go, Ava, but I'll pick you up at the airport?"
"Sure," she says, smiling at the phone. Nobody ever gave her a nickname, not even Duncan. "Got a hot date?"
Dennis doesn't answer, but she hears a click, a beep from her phone, pulls her cell away from her ear to see a classroom full of bemused undergrads waving at her.
She laughs, and obediently hangs up.
