Gail answered the phone, against her better instincts. "Hello?"
"What's the weirdest craving you've ever had?"
"Hello, Cecily," she said, amused in spite of herself. "What are you talking about?"
"Pregnancy cravings," Cecily said. "Argument. Hurry up, he's getting away!"
Gail blinked. "Sardines, if you must know. What is this argument about, anyway?"
"So you've never craved pickles and ice cream?" Cecily asked.
Which was, Gail supposed, an answer in itself. "No."
"Ha! I told him!" She hung up without further ado.
Gail put the phone back in its cradle, leaned her forehead on her hands, and laughed herself sick.
