She bent her head over a quire of paper, her red hair twisted up and leaving her long pale neck exposed. Vulnerable.
The man calling himself Jason Dacre smiled.
He hoped he wouldn't have to kill her today. There was strength in her, in the smooth, even scratching of her pencil across the paper, but even considering that, she was so frail, so easy to consume. He would love to see which won out.
He knocked on the doorframe. She looked up, snapped at him.
Such pretty blue eyes.
He smiled. They would eat her alive.
"Dr. Kendall, I presume?"
