Rachel Weston hates LA.
Her mother loves it-- the weather, the noise, all the people voting Republican. Which Rachel doesn't get, because her mom is a Democrat, but whatever. Maybe she likes having someone to fight.
Rachel hates the stink of it, the smog that makes her cough, the three seasons: hot, hotter, and on fire. She hates the gunshots and the pigeons and the heat, the movie stars and the police and the endless highways.
She's going to leave someday, flying east on the 10 until there's nothing left in her rearview mirror.
But for now, she hates LA.
