"I hope you're pleased with yourself," Aaron said.
Ivy giggled, then looked vaguely queasy. "Fifth place. An accomplishment!"
"Sure," he said, "but not one you're putting on your resume."
"You never know. Maybe I'll become a professional competitive eater."
"Is that a real thing?"
Ivy shrugged. "Dunno. Urgh."
"When we get home," Aaron said, "you are explaining to your mom why you ate your age in hot dogs in ten minutes."
"Pfft, that's nothing. You get to explain why you let me." She burped, coughed, leaned over, and threw up.
"God, you're an idiot," he said, and held her hair.
