Olivia feels—if she had to pick a word, it would be young.
She gets up in the morning, and Daddy's made breakfast, pancakes or waffles and always strawberries, because when she was a girl she couldn't get enough of them, and really she still can't. She has to be an adult at work but when she comes home, she and Daddy and Joanna read, or play board games, or just talk, and then Joanna brushes her hair and Daddy tucks her in and she doesn't mind, she's twenty-six and she doesn't mind.
She feels young again.
She feels safe.
