“That was fun,” Aaron said, scrubbing a hand through his freshly-washed hair. “It’s not often I get to take my time.”
“Definitely nice,” Maria agreed. “I am curious, though. Why bother shooting him? He was already dead.”
Aaron shrugged. “It seemed apropos. Rapists do tend to give love a bad name.”
She looked flatly at him for a moment, then said, “You think you’re funny.” But there was a smirk lurking at the corner of her mouth.
“I know I am,” Aaron said, amiably. “You know, it’s a good thing I met you. No one else would get my jokes.”
