"Well," Ivy said, prodding a tentacle with her toe. "That was fun."

"You are insane," Gina said, firmly, from her position against the cabin wall. "That was the most frightening thing I can remember."

Somewhere among the tangle of tentacles, Summer crowed with delight. "This is fascinating!"

Ivy jumped. "Summer! Get out of there."

"No," she said. "It has a beak!"

"God's teeth," Gina said, clenching her teeth against nausea.

"Lars," Ivy said, wearily, "get her out of there."

"No!" Summer objected, from the depths of the thing's guts.

Lars sighed. "My life," he said, to Gina, who couldn't disagree.
