Notes: Companion to Impressing.
There's a little girl in a yellow dress pretending to watch The Little Mermaid. Really, she's watching him.
Aaron watches her back, warily. He knows who she is. She's going to be his sister. It's her fault his dad made him wear a suit.
His tie's yellow too. He hates yellow.
He should try, he decides, and sighs. For his dad. He crouches beside her.
She eyes him, then says, "Hi."
"Hi," he says.
"Your tie is ugly."
"So's your dress."
She bolts upright, and exclaims, "It is. Wanna watch with me?"
Maybe she's okay.
"Sure," he says, and sits.
