"Interesting," says Olivia's mouth, with someone else's voice.
She is turning over her gloved hands, like she's never seen them before. There's a cruel smile at the edge of her lips.
"Livvy?" Jake whispers.
She turns toward him, one hip canted sharp to the side. "You're the boyfriend." A mocking lilt in that strange voice. "I'm afraid not."
"Livvy," he says, then louder, "Livvy. Give her back!"
She laughs like glass. "I'm afraid not," she repeats. "She's gone. This..." a gloved hand traces her side, "is mine now. As it should be."
He doesn't feel the knife. He's too numb.
